Eye Protection

Do you wear sunblock or sunscreen? If the answer is yes, then you should also be wearing UV protective sunglasses to block those same harmful sun rays from your precious eyes. Here's why: Ultraviolet rays cause cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration (retina deterioration) and skin cancer (10% of cancers found near eyes). Bright sunlight can trigger migraines and headaches. Wearing sunglasses can reduce frequency and intensity of pain. We should be protecting our eyes all year round, even on cloudy days.

  • 49% of U.S. adults don’t know that UV exposure increases the likelihood of cataract formation
  • 43% don’t know that UV exposure can cause cancer of the eye or eyelid
  • 36% don’t know that eyes can be sunburned

UV FACTS

Polarized & UV Protection

Polarized lenses reduce glare from relfective surfaces like water or roads, enhancing visual clarity and comfort. UV protection lenses block harmful ultraviolet rays, preventing damage and long-term health issues. Vuli lenses have both to ensure optimal eye safety and visual performance in bright conditions.

Fun Fact

Bees, birds, butterflies and other insects can see ultraviolet light, and the reflection of UV rays off wings helps insects identify mates.

Between 2-4pm

The time of day at which UV exposure is at its highest.

Vuliwear is committed to helping raise awareness about the risks of exposure to UV rays. Because UV exposure happens over a lifetime and doesn’t always produce immediate symptoms, people of all ages must be aware of the negative impact sunlight can have on our eyes—protect yourself –wear your Vuli’s all year long.

The month of May is UV Awareness month. Our polarized lenses reduce glare for better color, clarity/detail and provide close to 100% UV protection from the sun. The sun emits UV rays and unprotected, prolonged exposure to these rays can cause serious vision problems.

June 27 is National Sunglasses Day!
