For most, when you think high fashion sunglasses, you think of Ray-Ban. No doubt, it’s an iconic brand that has etched a mark in the eyewear world forever. Both men and women, famous and unknown have sported the brand for years. Bausch & Lomb in 1937 established Ray-Ban with design classics like the Wayfarer and Aviator.
Let’s talk about the Aviator for a minute, just in case you forgot what a staple this frame is for true sunglass lovers. If you have a passion for shades, then the aviator is most definitely in your arsenal of sunglasses. If not, then I question your true love for sunglasses and hope you have a good reason for eliminating them. Why the aviator? Because THEY LOOK GOOD ON JUST ABOUT ANYONE! They are also available for all age groups; even the kiddies can get in on the action.
Aviator lens styles traditionally feature a large, bold, tear-drop shaped lens framed by a thin metal frame. Lenses are typically polarized (eliminates glare and blinding reflections, heightens contrast, improves clarity and sharpness) and come in all different colors, including mirrored, black, gunmetal, colored, and gradient styles. Celebrities and musicians made and kept aviators popular and fashionable. Thank you Lenny Kravitz and Tom Cruise!
Aviators are unisex and worn by the coolest men and women on the planet. Their cool, calm design is a bit retro yet timeless. Over 80+ years old, the aviator is still stylish and going strong and very unlikely to go out of style any time soon, so rest assured that purchasing a pair of aviator sunglasses won’t be a passing trend.
